After their worst game of the season last week, the Bayou Breeze rebounded in a big way, posting their best scoring total of the season (522). They also got off the snide snapping a 4 game losing streak. Well Done Ashley! The Week 6 Snickers Game of the Week will feature the last two teams from the 2008 inaugural season. Team Squizard will host the Purple People Eaters in the spotlight Game of the Week.

Snickers Game of the Week
=========================

Team Squizard vs Mariah Rene

The Week 5 Snickers Game of the Week had sole possession of 1st place in the sights of the winner. Both teams went into Week 5 with perfect 4-0 records. Mariah Rene got on the board first scoring a league high 170 points. Bucky Irving rushed his way to 71 fantasy points for Mariah Rene. Irving beat his scoring projection by 163 percent. Team Squizard would trail for most of the game except the 3rd quarter. They pushed ahead of Mariah Rene by posting 290 points good for 2nd place. Their backup QB, Drake Maye, tallied a league high 155 points in the quarter. Mariah Rene would respond by posting another league high in the following quarter to retake the lead. Team Squizard would outscore Mariah Rene in the 5th quarter, but it was not enough to put a dent in the lead that Mariah Rene built through 5 quarters of play. Mariah Rene would put the game on ice by outscoring T Squizzy 51 to 21 in the final quarter. They posted a league high 657.50 points in the win. They are the Week 5 winners of the DirectTV High Score Award. Mariah Rene passed Buffalo Bills&Jills for 14th place with 6 High Score Awards.

Bayou Breeze vs Cucamonga PATRIOTS

The sigh of relief you hear is from the Bayou Breeze. They recorded their first win of the season by beating the Cucamonga PATRIOTS 506 to 438.50. Both teams exceeded their team’s projection. Week 5 was actually the first week that the Bayou Breeze had a higher projection than their opponent. The high projection would pay off in a major way for the Bayou Breeze in the 2nd half. The Cucamonga PATRIOTS outplayed Bayou Breeze in the first two quarters of play. But their lead was super thin. The turning point of the game came in the 3rd quarter. Bayou Breeze tallied 236 points to overtake the Patriots. They would build on the lead for the next 2 quarters of play. The Pats trailed by 156 points in the final frame with Josh Allen and James Cook starting in the final frame. Advantage Patriots. But Josh Allen could not erase the 5th quarter deficit giving the Bayou Breeze the win. They took home the Week 5 Gillette ProGlide Razor Thin Award with a winning margin of 67.50 points. They passed the teabaggers for 30th place with 2 Razor Thin Awards. Congrats Ashley!

Purple People Eaters vs SteelCityBLITZ

The Purple People Eaters vs SteelCityBLITZ matchup was a carbon copy of the Bayou Breeze vs Cucamonga PATRIOTS game. The Purple People Eaters would lead for two quarters at the start of the game only to lose the lead for good in the 3rd quarter. SteelCityBLITZ did not get on the board until the start of the 3rd quarter. They established a new 2026 record for points scored in the 3rd quarter. It was a good thing that they did because their day of scoring ended in the next quarter. On paper the Purple Crew had a chance to record a comeback victory, but they had one defensive player in their starting lineup in the final quarter giving way to the SteelCity Boys. SteelCityBLITZ snapped a three game losing streak in the win. They also took home the Week 5 Toyota Tundra Biggest Blowout Award. Their margin of victory was 164.50 points. They earned their 10th Biggest Blowout Award in their brief career. SteelCityBLITZ is the 7th team in league history to record double digit Biggest Blowout Awards. Finally, they passed the Advil Knights for 7th place all-time. Congrats John!

Trikz vs Yappiedog’s Rule

Matthew Stafford had his best day of the season. He posted a game high 146 points to hand Trikz their first win of the season. What a far cry from last year’s 7-0 start for Trikz. The good news is they only sit one game out of 4th place with 9 more games left on the schedule before the postseason starts. Yappiedog’s Rule was trying to go over .500 for the first time this season with a Week 5 win over Trikz. They had to fight hard to take a lead in the 4th quarter. But they expended most of their starting capital in the first 4 quarters of play. Trikz chipped away at Yappiedog’s Rule lead in the 5th quarter. Trailing by 12 points, Trikz had Stafford and Corum in their back pocket. Yappiedog’s Rule countered with Kyren Williams. Advantage Trikz. They outscored Yappiedog’s Rule 173 to 39. Trikz earned their first win and comeback victory of the season. One last note, Trikz moved up three spots in the Fantasy Players Cup Standings thanks Stafford posting 146 points in the 6th quarter.
