Yappiedog’s Rule 373.50 vs. Team Squizard 329.00
“60 Points of Revenge: Yappiedog’s Rule Steals the Show!”
This game had more twists and turns than a winding road! The lead changed hands five times before Yappiedog’s Rule pulled off a dramatic come-from-behind victory. Team Squizard grabbed its first lead in the second quarter, thanks to Alvin Kamara, who contributed 15 points during the period. Both teams then exploded in the third quarter, combining for an incredible 387 points, making it the most productive quarter for both teams. Yappiedog’s Rule reclaimed the lead in the following quarter, putting up 103 points, with Kyren Williams leading the charge with 36 points. Team Squizard would take its final lead in the fifth quarter, setting the stage for a dramatic finish. Yappiedog’s Rule needed to outscore T-Squizzy by 16 points to steal the victory. They didn’t just get 16; they scored 60 points while holding Team Squizard to just 1! Yappiedog’s Rule earned its first come-from-behind victory of the season and remains tied with three other teams for the league lead in that category. The victory also earned them the Week 7 Gillette ProGlide Razor Thin Award. They are now tied with three other teams for eighth place all-time with nine Razor Thin Awards.
Mariah Rene 640.50 vs. Purple People Eaters 467.50
“Purple Reign Interrupted: Mariah Rene Goes on a Scoring Rampage!”
The Purple People Eaters were looking to climb above .500 for the first time since Week 4. The Purple Crew came out firing and played lights out for two consecutive quarters, but couldn’t maintain that momentum in the second half. The turning point came in the third quarter when Mariah Rene exploded offensively, posting a season-high and league-high 331 points to regain the lead for the second time in the contest. The Purple People Eaters outscored Mariah Rene in the final quarter, but the damage had already been done. Mariah Rene walked away with the victory and now holds sole possession of first place. The victory also brought home some additional hardware, as Mariah Rene captured both the DirecTV High Score Award and the Toyota Tundra Biggest Blowout Award. This marks the second time this season they have won both awards in the same week. Mariah Rene also moved up the all-time award standings, passing DONE for 12th place with seven High Score Awards and passing lb hooters for 21st place with three Biggest Blowout Awards.
Cucamonga PATRIOTS 276.00 vs. Trikz 445.00
“Fourth-Quarter Fireworks: Trikz Blows Past the Patriots!”
Trikz is slowly finding its winning ways again! They took down the Cucamonga PATRIOTS to move within one game of the .500 mark. The Patriots controlled the action during the first two quarters, but their offense hit a wall in the second half. Cucamonga failed to reach 100 points in any quarter throughout the contest. Trikz took full advantage, exploding for a game-high 247 points in the fourth quarter to put the game away and collect their third victory of the season. Trikz is riding the wave! They have remained in the league’s Top 5 for three consecutive weeks and are now just one victory away from passing SuckMyDitka for fourth place on the all-time career wins list. Their winning ways appear to be returning at just the right time!
Bayou Breeze 441.00 vs. SteelCityBLITZ 488.50
“Steel City Stands Tall: Williams Leads the Wire-to-Wire Charge!”
The final game on the Week 7 schedule featured the only wire-to-wire victory of the week. SteelCityBLITZ controlled the scoreboard from start to finish, collecting their second wire-to-wire victory of the season. They are now tied with the Cucamonga PATRIOTS and T-Squizzy for the league lead in that category, with two wire-to-wire wins apiece. Bayou Breeze put up a fight throughout the contest, but the first-half deficit proved too much to overcome. They chipped away at the SteelCity lead in the second half, getting as close as 48 points, but eventually ran out of quarters and time. Caleb Williams continues to deliver as advertised! Williams has led the SteelCity Crew in scoring for two consecutive weeks since returning from injury. Even more impressive, SteelCityBLITZ is a perfect 3-0 when Williams leads the team in scoring. The victory also marked a major milestone for the SteelCity organization: their 25th career victory in league play. They become the 14th team in league history to reach the 25-win plateau.
