Another year and another Kick-Off Sunday in the rugged NAFL. A tip of the cap goes to G.E.T. S.O.M.E. on an impressive back-to-back championship run. Well Done Zach! If they complete the feat in January 4, 2027, they will be the first team in league history to capture 3 straight Championships. Man, you can tell teams were biting at the bit to get back into league play. 5 teams posted scores well over 20 points. The five teams tied a record for the most teams scoring over 20 points on Kick-Off Sunday. They are tied with league members from 2013. Congrats to Scorpions, G.E.T. S.O.M.E., Team Squizard, Hog’s Hawgs and Kickers Rule on tying the league record. There were some great games on Sunday along with a couple of Blowouts. The first match-up of the Week featured a comeback victory for the Hog’s Hawgs. The Hawgs got 2 key tubs from Kennth Walker to complete the come from behind win. The Hog’s Hawgs are on a 2 game streak in Kick-Off Sunday wins. The surprising Scorpions exploded for 20.62 points to capture their 2nd Kick-Off Sunday win. They will enter into next with the # 1 rank. Congrats Pascal! The defending Champion also won their 2nd straight Kick-Off Sunday win after losing 2 straight. G.E.T. S.O.M.E. led all teams in scoring last week. Kickers Rule entered the win column with a win last week posting 20.93 points. It was the first time Kickers Rule scored more than 20 points since week 9 of 2024. Kickers Rule was another team that posted back-to-back Kick-Off Sunday victories. Fireball captured their 2nd Kick-Off Sunday win Fireball had a monster 3rd quarter to collect their first win of the season.

I am excited to say that everything will be posted on the North American Football League homepage. I will no longer post anything on Yahoo because of the format constraints. I hired a guy from Upwork to design the website for all 13 leagues that I commission. He bailed on me after three weeks 4 years ago. He only completed half of the pages of one league which was the 1882 T-Formation League. And I could not edit what he completed. It was a total nightmare. But he gave me a framework to build off of and I completed all 13 leagues with the help of ChatGPT. Man, I am amazed at what AI can do. It should be another fun season. Good Luck to All this season.

Fireball vs Uncrowned Champ

The Week 1 Snickers Game of the Week would foreshadow what would happen in every game played in week 1. A team would get off to a great start only to lose the momentum in the 3rd quarter. The Uncrowned Champ started the game by going on a mini run scoring 4.05 points in the first two quarters of play. Mike Evans led all fantasy players in points scored in the first 2 quarters with 1.49 points. It would be the Uncrowned Champ’s only lead of the game. Fireball stormed back by posting the league’s 2nd highest tally in the 3rd quarter (14.19). Derrick Henry led all non-quarterbacks in scoring with a whopping 4.63 points in the 3rd quarter. Jonathan Taylor also chipped in with 3.11 points. The question of the day is: How did Fireball snag Taylor and Henry in the same draft? Well played Irv. But the Uncrowned Champ would respond in the 2nd half outscoring Fireball 5.73 to 4.19. They made the last quarter very interesting, but they could not overcome the 3rd quarter scoring barrage by Fireball. Fireball will hit the road and play the Hog’s Hawgs in the Snickers Game of the Week for week 2.

BYE WEEK vs Scorpions

BYE WEEK suffered the same fate as the Uncrowned Champ last week. They jump out to an early lead only to fall to the Scorpions in the 3rd quarter. BYE WEEK could not find their footing early on, but they managed to ink out a slim 0.57 lead entering the 3rd quarter. The 3rd quarter was the one where most teams’ 2nd-quarter leads would evaporate into thin air. This match-up would be no different. Both teams’ offenses would kick into high gear. The Scorpions tallied 11.50 points while BYE WEEK tallied 7.13 points. Advantage Scorpions. The Scorpions would add on to their league in the 2nd half scoring 7.47 points to secure the victory and record their 10th 20 point game of their career. They are the 13th team in league history to record 10 or more 20 point games. Congrats Irv! Oh, one last note, the Scorpions margin of victory was 6.68 points. They were the winners of the week 1 Toyota Tundra Biggest Blowout Award. They passed the Blue JAYZ for 16th place with 3 career Blowout victories.

Kickers Rule vs P.E.I. Skin Pigs

Kickers Rule had a shot at recording a come from behind victory against the Scorpions on Kick-Off Sunday of 2025. Could they complete the task and record a victory on the road for Kick-Off Sunday. Well, the P.E.I. Skin Pigs would have something to say about that by jumping to an early lead after two quarters of play. Unfortunately for the Skin Pigs, their best effort went for naught, just like the first two match-ups of the day. The game would come down to the 3rd quarter. Kickers Rule had a monster 3rd quarter posting a league high 18.24 points. They scored more points in one quarter than two teams scored in an entire game. They nearly doubled up the Skin Pigs in production. The P.E.I. Skin Pigs posted 9.75 points in the 3rd quarter. Safe to say that the Skin Pigs would have their work cut out for them in the 2nd half. And they would outplay Kickers Rule in the 2nd half, but they could not put a dent into the 3rd quarter lead put up by Kickers Rule. They tallied 20.93 points to secure their first win of the season. They passed Whoop There it is for 11th place with 12 20 point games. Congrats John!

Team Squizard vs Hog’s Hawgs

What a game! This game could have easily been the Game of the Week. The Hawgs are coming off of a 2025 Kick-Off victory. Could they make it two in a row? To set the scene, the Hog’s Hawgs won 5 out of 6 quarters on Kick-Off Sunday last year. But the tables were turned in 2026. Team Squizard would mount a big lead in the first 5 quarters only to relinquish the lead to the Hawgs in the final quarter. What a game. Team Squizard’s lead would balloon to 6.99 points in the 3rd quarter. They were the first team to win the 3rd quarter only to lose the game at the sound of the gun. The momentum started to crack in favor of the Hog’s Hawgs in the fourth. They tallied the 2nd highest point total in the 4th quarter to win their first quarter of the day. T-Squizzy responded by winning the next quarter. The game would come down to the final quarter. Trailing by 2.73 points, the Hawgs would start Kenneth Walker. Team Squizard started Talanoa Hufanga. Advantage Hog’s Hawgs. The Hawgs raced to a quick 3.91 to 0.10 lead to secure the first comeback victory of the season. The Hog’s Hawgs are the winners of the week 1 Gillette Razor Thin Award of the season. They are ranked 3rd all-time with 26 Razor Thin Awards.

G.E.T. S.O.M.E. vs Goch_Deep

Goch_Deep and G.E.T. S.O.M.E. squared off again in a week one match-up. Last year both teams combined to score 25.63 points in the 2025 Kick-Off Sunday match-up. Offense played a lot better last week. Both teams combined to score 41.33 points which led all teams in league play. Goch_Deep would secure another lead three quarter lead in this game. However, there was a big difference from this year and last year. They secured a three quarter lead at the end of the game in 2025. Goch_Deep would hold down a lead for the first 3 quarters of 2026. Big difference. Goch_Deep controlled play in the first half outpacing G.E.T. S.O.M.E. 8.77 to 6.01. The last 3 quarters would be different for Goch_Deep. G.E.T. S.O.M.E. would outpace Goch_Deep in every quarter except the 6th. Neither team had starters playing in the final quarter. G.E.T. S.O.M.E. went on a 16.38 to 10.17 run to close out the game. They would tally a game high 22.39 points to secure the first Direct-TV High Score Award of the season. They are tied with BOUT that ACTION for 7th place with 18 High Score Awards.
