🏈 North American Football League Weekly Recap: Week 7

What a historic week in the NAFL. The league had not one, not two, but three come from behind victories and the league had one wire-to-wire victory. Due to Buy Weeks, the scoring was down. But it was not as bad as last week. Well, well, well. The standings at the top is too close to call. Fireball saw their three game win streak go by the waste side in their Rivalry Week Matchup against G.E.T.S.O.M.E. The game was also the Game of the Week. The win by G.E.T.S.O.M.E. created a 3-way tie for 1st place where 1st place and 2nd place are separated by 1.08 points. Goch_Deep moved into 2nd place with their 10th career Rivalry Week win. After starting the year 0-5, Goch_Deep has won two straight. The P.E.I. Skin Pigs are in a flat-footed tie with G.E.T.S.O.M.E. with 9 Rivalry Week victories. Both teams are tied for 3rd place. The Skin Pigs picked up their 3rd wire-to-wire win of the season. They are tied with Fireball for the league lead. Team Squizard snapped their one game losing streak last week. They are the league leaders in Rivalry Week wins with 14. The Scorpions got in the win column for the first time since joining the league. They are the 26th team in league history to win at least one game. Congrats Pascal! Man, the year is at the halfway mark and the standings are super close from top to bottom. It is anybody’s race to win the regular season title. The Week 8 Snickers Game of the Week will showcase Team Squizard vs P.E.I. Skin Pigs. The breakdown is courtesy of AI

🏈 WEEK 7 – RIVALRY WEEK RECAP

Five Rivalries. Five Battles. Bragging Rights on the Line!

🏆 Snickers Game of the Week:

Fireball 15.87 vs G.E.T. S.O.M.E. 18.66

G.E.T. S.O.M.E. STEALS FIRST PLACE WITH A FOURTH-QUARTER COMEBACK!

First place was on the line in this week’s Snickers Game of the Week, and the added bonus was Rivalry Week! It was old versus young as Matthew Stafford and Fireball squared off against Caleb Williams and G.E.T. S.O.M.E. G.E.T. S.O.M.E. came out firing, outscoring Fireball 3.92 to 0.40 in the opening quarter. Caleb Williams led the way with 3.21 points in the first quarter and finished as his team’s top scorer. Fireball, meanwhile, was burning on a slow boil. Their offense didn’t really heat up until the second half, posting a team-high 7.98 points in the fourth quarter. Matthew Stafford paced Fireball with 3.52 points. Despite the late surge, Fireball carried a razor-thin lead into the final quarter. G.E.T. S.O.M.E. trailed by just 0.06 points with Javonte Williams, Caleb Downs, and Zack Baun ready to go, while Fireball countered with Jake Ferguson and Cooper DeJean. Advantage G.E.T. S.O.M.E.! They outscored Fireball 3.15 to 0.30 to complete the comeback and earn their first comeback victory of the season. Even better, G.E.T. S.O.M.E. has now won two straight Rivalry Week games! And with the victory, they move into a share of first place!

🔥 GOCH_DEEP 15.17 vs UNCROWNED CHAMP 13.12

HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF! GOCH_DEEP KEEPS RIVALRY WEEK PERFECTION ALIVE!

This is what Rivalry Week is all about! The schedule makers naturally placed Goch_Deep against Uncrowned Champ, two franchises that entered the league in the 2010 season. The teams had met only once previously during Rivalry Week, with Goch_Deep looking to remain perfect. That record would remain intact after another exciting battle. The game was a tale of two halves, with Goch_Deep controlling the first half and Uncrowned Champ taking charge in the second. UC put together a strong stretch in the middle of the game and carried a slim 0.03-point advantage into the sixth quarter. It all came down to the Philadelphia Eagles’ coverage defense. Would they double-team or shade coverage toward CeeDee Lamb, or let him play straight up? Goch_Deep had Lamb in the lineup, while Uncrowned Champ countered with Ryan Flournoy. Advantage Goch_Deep! They outscored UC 2.78 to 0.70 to earn a come-from-behind victory, their first of the season. Despite the loss, Uncrowned Champ reached a significant milestone by crossing the 250-point barrier in Rivalry Week scoring. UC now ranks fourth all-time. Congratulations, Russell Sr.!

🦎 TEAM SQUIZARD 20.70 vs KERMIT HAS DOWNS 15.63

T-SQUIZZY COMPLETES THE COMEBACK! THE FOURTH QUARTER BELONGED TO SQUIZARD!

What a day for the league! Three teams posted comeback victories during Rivalry Week, and Team Squizard was the last to accomplish the feat. KERMIT HAS DOWNS looked dominant for three consecutive quarters, but the tide began turning in Team Squizard’s favor in the fifth quarter. T-Squizzy exploded for a game-high 5.44 points to pull within 0.37 points with one quarter remaining. It was offense versus defense in the final frame, and Team Squizard won that battle in convincing fashion! They piled up a league-high 5.64 points while KHD managed just 0.20, sealing the comeback victory. Team Squizard is carrying some serious momentum after collecting both the DirecTV High Score Award and Toyota Tundra Biggest Blowout Award last week. They added another reason to celebrate during Rivalry Week, passing G.E.T. S.O.M.E. for the league lead with four Biggest Blowout Awards. Not a bad week for T-Squizzy!

🐗 HOG’S HAWGS 16.08 vs P.E.I. SKIN PIGS 19.45

SKIN PIGS KEEP ROLLING! FOUR STRAIGHT WINS AND COUNTING!

Week 7 marked the first-ever Rivalry Week meeting between Hog’s Hawgs and the P.E.I. Skin Pigs. The two teams entered the matchup heading in opposite directions. The Hawgs had dropped two straight Rivalry Week games, while the Skin Pigs were riding a four-game winning streak. The difference in this one came down to projections. Hog’s Hawgs fell short of their projection by 7.69%, while the Skin Pigs exceeded theirs by an impressive 12.43%. That was the difference on the scoreboard. The Hawgs trailed from the opening kick but managed to outscore the Skin Pigs in the fourth quarter to close the gap. Unfortunately for Hog’s Hawgs, the Skin Pigs took control over the final two quarters and secured a wire-to-wire victory. The win also came with a little league history attached. P.E.I. passed Fireball for the league lead in winning quarters with 28. Four straight victories and counting! The Skin Pigs are certainly enjoying their run.

🦂 KICKERS RULE 12.86 vs SCORPIONS 14.89

SCORPIONS STRIKE BACK! RAZOR-THIN WIN ENDS THREE-GAME SLIDE!

Kickers Rule entered Rivalry Week looking to protect their second-place standing, while the Scorpions were desperate to snap a team-high three-game losing streak. Things looked promising for Kickers Rule, who held the lead through the first three quarters. But the second half belonged to the Scorpions. They caught fire with a league-high 8.98 points at the beginning of the second half, taking the lead away from Kickers Rule. It was a lead they would never surrender. The Scorpions added another 0.57 points in the fifth quarter to put the game away and secure their third victory of the season. The win also produced a little team history. Their 14.89 points established a new team high for points scored in a Rivalry Week game. Congratulations, Pascal! The Scorpions also captured the Week 7 Gillette ProGlide Razor Thin Award with their 2.03-point victory. To top it off, they passed G for 14th place all-time with six Razor Thin Awards. Sometimes a little sting is all you need!
