Are you ready for some football! Another season is upon us as we embark on our 20th season of ball. Man some of us have been at this a long time. Thanks for playing from the old Gs to the 2nd year managers. Well Kick-Off Sunday is finally here. Congrats to T-Squizzy on winning the League’s most coveted prize. A new season is here and hope springs eternal for all 12 teams in the rough and rugged TDU. The Champ is following a disturbing trend where the defending Champ has lost 4 out of 5 Kick-Off Sunday games. The Yahoo Drafter graders were super tough. No team got a grade higher than a B+. The Purple People Eaters were one of two that received a B+. They outlasted Team Squizard in the Snickers Game of the Week. The P-Men have won three straight Kick-Off Sunday Games. The other team that collected a B+ was Country Beckham Hock. They ran into a buzz saw by the name of Virtual Destruction Josh Allen led the team in victory with 4 tubs. Virtual Destruction had also won 3 straight Kick-Off Sunday games. The surprising Gothams Finest made the City proud by outscoring all teams with 8.80 points. Gothams Finest has finally entered the win column on Kick-Off Sunday. They have not won a game on opening week since 2023. OJH is up to their old tricks again. They employed their “Death Line-up” scoring 7.50 points on Kick-Off Sunday. OJ Hernandez has won 3 straight Kick-Off Sunday games as well. EXTREME DAZE of MAIZE recorded their 2nd Kick-Off Sunday game in the last 4 years. They snapped a 1 game losing streak in the win. It was the most points posted by a Maize team since 2021 in a week 1 game. The Sea Pigeons won their 2nd straight Kick-Off Sunday Game tallying 5.30 points. They had the lowest winning tally of the week. They currently sit in 6th place in the standings.

I am excited to say that everything will be posted on the North American Football League homepage. I will no longer post anything on Yahoo because of the format constraints. I hired a guy from Upwork to design the website for all 13 leagues that I commission. He bailed on me after three weeks 4 years ago. He only completed half of the pages of one league which was the 1882 T-Formation League. And I could not edit what he completed. It was a total nightmare. But he gave me a framework to build off of and I completed all 13 leagues with the help of ChatGPT. Man, I am amazed at what AI can do. It should be another fun season. Good Luck to All this season.

Team Squizard vs Purple People Eaters

Team Squizard and the Purple People Eaters have squared off 7 times in the spotlight game. The Purple People Eaters defeated T-Squizzy in last year’s Game of the Week match-up 7.00 to 2.30 in week 7. Unfortunately for Team Squizard they would suffer the same fate. The Purple People Eaters would earn some lofty honors after the game. They never trailed in this game, but they did not earn the coveted wire-to-wire victory because both teams were tied 0.50 to 0.50 after two quarters of play. The difference in the game was the 3rd quarter. The P-Men captured the lead by going on a 3.40 to 2.40 run in the quarter. Bijan Robinson and Spencer Shrader led the charge with 2.00 points combined. Team Squizard would make the game interesting by posting 1.10 points in the final quarter, but it was not enough to secure the win. The Purple People Eater sit alone in the Game of the Week record books. They own both Points and Wins career records. Now they own the Appearance Record by playing in their 54 career game passing the Seahawks last week. Congrats Matt!! They will play EXTREME DAZE of MAIZE in the Week 2 Snickers Game of the Week.

Gothams Finest vs Scottsdale Scorpions

Gothams Finest needed 4 solo tackles from Brian Branch to end the game in a tie against Virtual Destruction last year in the season opener. They would need no help in the win last Sunday because Gothams Finest led from start to finish in the victory over the Scorpions. They recorded the first wire-to-wire win of the season. The Scorpions could not get their footing early in the game. The difference in the game was the 3rd quarter. Gothams Finest posted 6.50 points in the quarter good for 2nd place. The Scorpions countered with only 0.30 points. The Scorpions added a league high 4.40 points to open the 4th quarter, but Gothams Finest kept the Scorpions at bay recording 2.20 points to win the game. Gothams Finest is the winner of the week 1 Direct-TV High Score Award with 8.80 points. It is the 2nd year in a row that Gothams Finest has won the coveted award. They passed J.E.T.S rule for 12th place in career High Score Awards with 7. They can move up two spots with their next High Score Award.

EXTREME DAZE of MAIZE vs HORSE WITH NO NAME

EXTREME DAZE of MAIZE could not win a quarter versus the Scottsdale Scorpion last year on Kick-Off Sunday. The tables would turn in their favor this year against HORSE WITH NO NAME. EXTREME DAZE of MAIZE never trailed for one second in their first game of the season a stark contrast from last year. Although they never trailed in the game, Maize missed out on recording a wire-to-wire win because they did not have a starter in the game for the first two quarters of play. HORSE WITH NO NAME played well, but they could not keep up the scoring production of EXTREME DAZE of MAIZE. They suffered their first lost on opening week. Maize got a great game out of Jaxson Dart in the victory.

Country Beckham Hock vs Virtual Destruction

The Country Beckham Hock vs Virtual Destruction match-up was the highest scoring match-up of the day. Both teams combined to score 14.20 points on Kick-Off Sunday. The game was a game of runs. CBH controlled the first half and Virtual Destruction dominated play in the 2nd half. In fact, Country Beckham Hock posted 95% of their points in the first half of play. That would come back to haunt them in the 2nd half. They only scored .10 points for the rest of the game. Virtual Destruction would take full advantage of the lack of scoring by CBH. They went on a mini run outscoring Country Beckham Hock 2.90 to 0.10 to close the game out.

Hoghead vs OJ Hernandez

The Hoghead vs OJ Hernandez match-up was the only re-match of Kick-Off Sunday from last year. The game almost followed the same pattern as 2025 between the two ball clubs. It was the same playbook. Hoghead would dash out to an early lead only to lose the lead late to OJH. The only difference was Hoghead held the lead for two quarters instead of 4 quarters like last year. OJ Hernandez employed their Death Line-up in week one. Jackson, Henry and Waddle combined to score 6 points in the victory. Amazingly, Henry and Flowers combined to score 3 points in last year’s victory. OJH is the winner of the week 1 Toyota Tundra Biggest Blowout Award with a winning margin of 5.80 points. They are tied for the league lead with 37 Blowout Award with Team Squizard.

Sea Pigeons vs Seahawks

Two old foes faced off on Sunday. Both teams reside in the NorthWest. So we are in for a treat in the week 1 match-up. It was the best game of the week. It could have easily been the game of the week. This match-up had a season high 4 lead changes before the Sea Pigeons would win the game. The lead changed hands two times before the Seahawks would secure the lead going into half-time. Baker and Fairbairn combined to score 2.00 for the Hawks. The difference in the game came in the 5th quarter for the Sea Pigeons. They countered with 2 points of their own led by Javone Williams two tubs. The Seahawks did not have a starter to play in the final quarter giving the Sea Pigeons the victory. What a game. The Sea Pigeons took home the week 1 Gillette ProGlide Razor Thin Award with a margin of 1.20 points. They are ranked 3rd all-time with 20 Razor Thin Awards. They are the 3rd team in league history to post 20 or more Razor Thin Awards. Congrats Cameron!
